Wine & Operations Manager
Award winning, product & hospitality-driven, Italian restaurant
Cotogna is looking for a Wine & Operations Manager to join the front of the house management team. An ideal candidate is a skilled, career-minded individual who is passionate about product, hospitality and education. Knowledge and curiosity about and for Italian wine and food is key as well as the confidence and ability to lead high-energy, volume-driven services.
An extensive background in casual-fine dining service and management, and accreditation from The Court of Master Sommeliers is preferred. The position involves will be split between working on the wine and the management team.
The Wine and Operations manager is responsible for wine education training opportunities for staff, and educational experiences for guests, including organizing all wine dinners, wine classes and all offsite wine events.
Other responsibilities include day to day labor management of 25 plus front-of-the-house employees, staff training, execution of company policies, SOP’s and procedures and point of sales operating system.
The position has growth potential and ability to explore a number of career opportunities within Cotogna and its affiliated Three Star Michelin Restaurant property, Quince.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a fine dining establishment, or hospitality management
Solid background in Italian and California wines.
Fluency in Excel, Word and BinWise preferred.
