New and Notable: NYC & SF Restaurant Openings

Chubby Mary’s: Francis Garcia and Sal Basille, the team behind the gut-busting late-night favorite Artichoke Pizzeria, have transformed their 14th Street dessert spot Led Zeppole into a new an Italian hero shop instead.

The Butcher’s Daughter: Nevermind the tongue-in-cheek name: the menu at this Nolita newcomer from Heather Tierney (Apotheke, Pulqueria) is all vegetarian. Fresh-pressed juices and coffee round out the healthy menu at the sunny, woodsy spot.

Curry Up Now: A cousin to the San Mateo location (from what was originally a food truck), this Akash and Rana Kapoor bring their Indian fusion fare to Palo Alto, serving tikka masala burritos and street-food inspired snacks.

321 Hamilton Avenue, 650- 477-3000

Belcampo: Farm-to-table to the max is the motto at this Larkspur butcher-cum- cafe from Anya Fernald (Slow Food Nation, Eat Real Fest)—every stage of meat production is overseen by the team. The casual restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch daily (dinner coming soon), while the retail butcher shop has longer hours, from 9AM to 8PM.
