James has been counsel to the NYC Chapter of the New York State Restaurant Association since January 2011.  He has years of experience in the industry including nearly a decade of work for the New York State Attorney General’s office where he handled complex cases involving the industry.  In 2009, he was appointed by the Commissioner of Labor to the Hospitality Wage Board where he helped redraft the outdated labor regulations that guide the restaurant and hotel industry.  The New York State Restaurant Association is the largest member-based hospitality association in the State of New York with nearly 5,000 members in New York City alone.  The New York State Restaurant Association’s tag line of “Helping Restaurants Succeed”SM guides it in all aspects of its operations, including advocating on all levels of government, providing the best and most comprehensive cost-saving services to members, and bringing operators together for educational, networking, and idea-sharing events.
